How to use this book
This book is split into Areas. Each Area holds a few smaller Topics.
Every Topic is written the same way, so you always know what you’re looking at:
- What it is — a plain description, in one or two lines.
- Why it helps you — what changes in your life once you have this.
- Good to have first — other Topics that make this one easier. (Skip this if you’re ready now.)
- This opens up — what gets easier after you have this.
A few promises:
- Free and low-cost help exists for everything in this book. Some Topics cost money, but many do not. Where money is needed, there are usually charities, programs, or free options too.
- You don’t need money, an ID, or a family to begin. A few of the very first Topics help you get those things.
- Going slow is fine. One small step still counts.
This is the United States Edition. The help listed is for people in the US. To learn why, and how AI helped make this book, see How this book was made.
